Jet Rhys
Best Hair Color

From the Owner … At Jet Rhys our clients sometimes know exactly what they want; a blonde on blonde like Jessica Alba or Nicole Ritchie or two tone vanilla and chocolate bob from a Versace runway show, ooh la la. Almost everyone who walks through our doors wants at least a little MAGIC. Just coming to our eclectic salon will be a memorable experience.

While there are many beauty salons in San Diego that offer the services we do, none provide the same level of knowledge and skill in contemporary hair styling techniques. We are located in San Diego, CA.

Want Sleek Hair?

The Yuko Beauty retexturing treatment-used by Julianne Moore-turns waves and curls pin-straight in hours, and it lasts until your hair grows out. (Visit yuko-usa.com for salon listings.) For a more temporary, chemical-free fix, visit a salon for the Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy by Coppola, of which Ashley Tisdale is a devotee. (Visit keratincomplex.com for salons.) “It doesn’t straighten curls, but it eliminates frizz for at least three months,” says hairstylist Jet Rhys.

Do yourself a favor: Schedule at least the next two cuts before leaving the salon.  “Stylists book up faster than people realize,” says San Diego salon owner Jet Rhys, “especially during holidays.”

Self: Chemical Overprocessing

Bleaching and straightening can crack cuticle layers,
making them porous, flaky and coarse.
Fix it now. Use a color-depositing glaze once a week to bring back richness.  (It works whether or not you color your hair.)  These treatments contain sheer pigments and silicone that coat at the cuticle, filling in the jagged areas to restore your tone’s vibrancy.
Prevent future harm. Deep-conditioning masks are like a wheatgrass shot for thirsty, damaged hair.  Parched strands soak up the most hydration from shea butter and fatty alcohols (scan labels for cetyl and stearyl alcohols) as well as olive and nut oils.  Apply the masks once a week to sopping wet hair, then cover with a damp, hot towel.  The heat opens the cuticle, helping the nourishers seep in deeper, says Jet Rhys, a salon owner in San Diego.  Wait about 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
